The coach of the German football team, Hansi Flick, decided to leave out Bayern striker Thomas Muller from the list of players for the upcoming friendly matches with Peru and Belgium, reports Bild.
After the World Cup in Qatar, Muller said that he was considering retiring from the German national team. However, after talking with Flick, the Bayern striker decided to make himself available to the national team for the upcoming European Championship, which will be held in Germany next year.
Germany, as the host, qualified for the European Championship, and in terms of qualifications, the “panzers” will play friendly matches. On March 25, Germany will meet Peru, and three days later they will play Belgium.
German media claim that Flick will test a large number of football players in the upcoming matches, but Müller is not on the list.
“I spoke with Muller and told him that I will not call him for the matches in March and June. However, this does not mean that his career in the national team is over and that he will not have a place in the team at the European Championship in 2024,” said Flick.
Muller (33) played 121 matches for the German national team and scored 44 goals
Miller (33) played 121 matches for the German national team and scored 44 goals
