Erik ten Hag welcomes "Positive" impact of Sir Jim Ratcliffe's arrival at Old Trafford

Manchester United’s head coach, Erik ten Hag, has expressed positivity about Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s recent deal to acquire a 25% stake in the club, stating that it is beneficial due to Ratcliffe and INEOS’s “experience in sport on the highest level.”

Although the Premier League is yet to officially ratify the deal, the announcement on December 24 outlined Ratcliffe’s plans, with INEOS sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford playing a crucial role in the football department’s revamp at Old Trafford.

Despite trailing 2-0 to Aston Villa at Old Trafford, United staged an excellent second-half comeback, winning 3-2, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring his first Premier League goal.

During the post-match press conference, Ten Hag commented on Ratcliffe’s arrival, emphasizing the positive impact on the club. He highlighted their experience in high-level sports, including F1, cycling, and other football clubs, stating that it can only help and support United in achieving their targets.

When asked about Ratcliffe and Brailsford’s impressions of the performance against Villa, Ten Hag deferred the question to them but provided insights into the team’s strategy, emphasizing the need for consistency and a solid performance.

Looking ahead, Ten Hag expressed confidence that with more players available, especially in key positions, United will achieve greater consistency. The team will aim to secure successive wins in the Premier League as they face Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.
