Manchester City got back to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 home victory over Wolves, ending a run of four matches without a win and cutting the gap to leaders Arsenal to four points.
City started strongly and took the lead after just six minutes when Matheus Nunes crossed for Omar Marmoush, who finished from close range. Marmoush nearly made it 2-0 before half-time when he hit the post, but City did get their second goal just before the break as Antoine Semenyo scored with a low shot past José Sá.
Wolves tried to respond in the second half and came close on a few occasions, hitting the crossbar twice, but they could not find a way past City’s defence. Semenyo also went close to scoring again late on, but his effort struck the bar.
The win keeps City firmly in the title race, while Wolves saw their recent unbeaten run come to an end and remain at the bottom of the table.
