Atalanta and Juventus to play the Coppa Italia Final tonight. Atalanta won this cup once, while Juventus have won this cup for 14 times, making them the most club to have won this honour.
Massimo Allegri Juventus coach has already won the Coppa Italia 4 times in his carrier together with Sven Goran Eriksson and Roberto Mancini. This is the second Final for Allegri in his second spell at Juventus and he could be the record man. This is also the first time that Juventus are not favourites to win this cup and all is coming from the disappointing campaign they had so far. During the press conference Allegri said that “Juventus have 50% chance of winning the cup, and this could be the last final for most of them. Return to play Champions League football is very important, but also they need to bring cups to their museum.”
Meanwhile Atalanta’s coach Gian Piero Gasperini said that “the fact that playing against such good teams in Europe has let Atalanta players believe in themselves”. Atalanta have to chance to right history, in seven days. Even though history is already been done when they reached their first ever European Final. In Dublin on 22nd May they have to meet Leverkusen who are still unbeaten this season.
Atalanta have to beat Juventus to win their second Coppa Italia in history. They have won their only one back in 1963. Atalanta will be without two key players Kolasinac injured while Scamacca is suspended.
