CONTE WITHOUT WORLD CUP PLAYERS: They are not fully ready at the moment

Antonio Conte, the coach of Tottenham’s football players, pointed out that it is best for the match against Brentford to be played only by players who did not go to the World Cup in Qatar.

In the match of the 17th round of the Premier League, Tottenham will host the Brentford team on “boxing day”.

“I’m not very happy. On the one hand, you are happy, because for Tottenham, having 12 players at the World Cup means that we are on the right track to be competitive and to try to win something. But it’s normal that when you have so many players playing in such a tournament, especially during the season, it’s not easy now because the physical preparation is not up to par,” Conte said, BBC reported today.

The Premier League resumes on Monday just eight days after the World Cup final in Qatar.

“We worked a lot on the tactical and physical level. They are now at a level that is better than the players who played in the World Cup. For this reason, I think I have to make the best decision for the match against Brentford. On the one hand, I have players with whom I worked well for four weeks, and on the other hand, I have players who worked at the World Cup and are currently not fully ready,” Conte pointed out.

Due to yellow cards, Rodrigo Bentancur will miss the match, Brazilian forward Richarlison is out for a month due to injury, and Lucas Moura has a hamstring problem again.

“I struggle a lot to find a solution. It is a difficult situation, because we have a good player in the team, such as Moura, but he is never ready. It’s like you don’t have it. It’s a shame because we’re talking about a good player, a good guy, but he’s fighting hard to solve the problem. I don’t know what will happen to him in the future,” Conte concluded.

The city derby between Brentford and Tottenham will be played on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
