In the recent transfer window, Chelsea made significant investments in the transfer market.
Under the ownership of American billionaire Todd Boehly, who took over the club this summer, the club demonstrated their commitment to reinforcing the team by spending an impressive 611,490,000 euros.
This winter alone, Chelsea spent 267 million euros, outpacing the combined spending of all clubs in the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, and French Ligue 1.
The club, currently ranked tenth in the Premier League table, made a British record transfer of £106.8m (€121m) for Argentine player Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, on the final day of the transfer window.
The spending of leading English clubs has increased significantly from the same period last year. During the 2022/2023 season, clubs spent £2.8 billion on player transfers, surpassing the previous record of £1.9 billion from the 2017/2018 season.
Interestingly, even Bournemouth, who are currently in the relegation zone, rank as the second largest spenders in the Premier League.
