Bayer Leverkusen secured a 3-2 away win against Werder Bremen in the 24th round of the German Bundesliga.
Werder Bremen opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a goal from Marvin Ducksch, but Mitchel Bakker equalized for Bayer Leverkusen just four minutes later.
The first half ended without any further goals, and the score remained 1-1. Bayer Leverkusen managed to turn the game around in the 56th minute, with a goal from Jeremie Frimpong.
Adam Hlozek increased Bayer’s lead to 3-1 in the 83rd minute. Niclas Fullkrug scored from the penalty spot for Werder in the 86th minute, but it was not enough for them to catch up.
Bayer Leverkusen is currently in ninth place in the table with 34 points, while Werder Bremen is in 11th position with 30 points.
In the upcoming round, Bayer will host Bayern Munich, while Werder Bremen will welcome Borussia Monchengladbach.
