The football club Barcelona sold today 25 percent of the TV rights to the investment company “Sixth Street,” it was announced by the club.
This investment company will have the rights to broadcast matches of the Catalan club for the next 25 years, and Barcelona will immediately receive 519 million euros according to the contract.
“We continue to improve our strageria, and we are delighted to have completed this agreement with “Sixth Street,” which significantly strengthens us financially,” said Barca’s president Joan Laporta on the club’s official website.
This financial injection will help Barca to comply with financial fair play and expenses such as the transfers of Robert Lewandowski and Rafinha, which cost 110 million euros.
