Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta spoke before the match against Leeds, putting special emphasis on the possible return of William Saliba before the end of the season. Although there were initial suspicions that the defender would require surgery due to a back injury, it appears that the Frenchman will recover earlier.
“I am positive about his return. It is much better now. Back injuries are inconvenient, but both he and the medical team are positive and optimistic. Let’s take it one day at a time and see how he handles it. He is willing to return to the field and be with the team as soon as possible,” said Arteta.
However, the match against Leeds will come too early for Saliba. “He won’t be ready for Leeds. We are doing everything possible to get him back to training as soon as possible, but it is not yet possible,” added Arteta.
Fans are encouraged by the return of forward Gabriel Jesus. “He is very close to being 100% ready. In the last ten days, he has made great progress. He is already causing chaos in training, creating unique moments. He is really in a good position,” Arteta concluded.
