Canadian national team player Alphonso Davis donated all the money from the premium for qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar.
“Canada gave home to my family and me and gave us the opportunity for a better life.” It allowed me to achieve my dreams. It’s a great honor to play for Canada, and I want to give it back. That’s why I decided to donate all the money from the World Cup qualifying prize to charity, “Davis wrote on his Twitter profile.”
By the way, Alphonso is originally from Liberia and has been living in Canada since 2005, when his family fled the war and immigrated to Canada.
He started his professional career in Vancouver, and since 2018 he has been a member of Bayern.
Davis played 32 games for Canada and scored 12 goals.
Canada will play in the World Cup with Belgium, Morocco, and Croatia.
