Christian Eriksen has not been picked for Denmark’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Scotland and Greece. The national team coach, Brian Riemer, announced the list on Monday, and the 33-year-old midfielder was not included, as he is still without a club.
Instead, 25-year-old Victor Jensen has been called up for the first time. He has had a great start to the season with Utrecht, scoring eight goals in eight games, three in the Dutch league and five in the Europa League qualifiers.
Gustav Isaksen is not available due to illness.
Denmark will play Scotland at home on Friday, 5 September, and then travel to face Greece away three days later.
