Bayer Leverkusen aims to extend their unbeaten run to 11 matches when they host Stuttgart on Friday. Currently in third place, Leverkusen has won four, drawn three, and lost one of their eight league games this season. Despite their two-month unbeaten streak, they have drawn three of their last four Bundesliga matches, including a frustrating last-minute equalizer from Werder Bremen that cost them crucial points.
Leverkusen did secure a 3-0 win against Elversberg in the DFB-Pokal, with Patrik Schick scoring twice. They previously defeated Stuttgart on penalties to win the DFL-Supercup in August, extending their unbeaten streak against them to 13 matches across all competitions. Xabi Alonso will be without Jeanuel Belocian and Amine Adli due to injuries.
Stuttgart, sitting in eighth place and three points behind Leverkusen, have had a positive streak with three consecutive wins, including a dramatic victory over Juventus in the Champions League and two narrow league wins. However, they have struggled away, winning just one of their four Bundesliga away matches this season.

Stuttgart last defeated Leverkusen in April 2018. They will be missing Yannik Keitel, Luca Raimund, and Dan-Axel Zagadou, with Jeff Chabot suspended after a red card last weekend.
