The group stage draw for the Champion ta’ Malta, an individual competition organised by the Malta Blackball Federation, was held on Tuesday evening.
Defending champion Johan Attard has been drawn in Group 6, where he will face Steven Muscat, Gabriel Vella, and Keith Caruana. Meanwhile, the 2023 winner, Dejan Grech, is in Group 11 alongside Glenn Axiaq, Clayton Attard, and Bernard Borg.
In total, there are 16 groups, each containing four players. The top two from each group will progress to the Last 32 stage. Group stage matches are played in a race to 6 frames format. If two players finish level on points, the winner of their head-to-head encounter advances. In the case of a three-way tie, a decider will be played, with the first player to win two consecutive matches going through. Deciders are contested in a race to 5 frames format and will take place on the final day of the group stage.
The final of this competition is scheduled for Wednesday, 22nd October, at the Fuego Speakeasy Arena in Birkirkara.
