The National Blackball Federation hosted an exciting evening of competitive pool on Monday during the Euro 2025 Tour 3 Finals Night, held at the Anici Band Club in Qormi. A total of five national finals took place across various age categories, with all winners securing their place in the Maltese National Team for the upcoming Euro 2025 Championships, scheduled for November in Ennis, Ireland.
In the Under 15 Final, Dielyn Edwards impressed with a dominant 9-2 victory over Ezekiel Ciantar, showing sharp potting skills and calm under pressure throughout the match.
The Under 23 Final proved to be a thriller, as Matthias Debono edged past Nordai Desira with a tight 9-8 win. Both players demonstrated excellent tactical play, but Debono held his nerve in the deciding frame to clinch the title.
In the Men’s Final, Johan Attard emerged victorious against Gary Carr with a hard-fought 10-8 result, cementing his status as one of the top contenders on the national circuit.
The Seniors 40+ Final was another nail-biting affair, with Raymond Caruana narrowly defeating Jesmond Schembri 10-9 in a match filled with momentum swings and strategic exchanges.
Meanwhile, in the Grand Masters 60+ Final, Brian Grech produced a confident and controlled performance to beat Manuel Saliba 8-3, securing the title and his place in the national squad.
The MBF congratulated all winners and participants for their performances, highlighting the strong level of talent across all divisions. The Federation now shifts focus to preparing the national teams for the European Championships later this year.
