Birkirkara Youngsters and Qormi Pinto B booked their places in the Regional Knockout final after hard-fought semi-finals played over two legs. Qormi overcame Valletta Fossa Boys 21 to 13, while Birkirkara edged Ħamrun 147C 21 to 18. The final will be played on Thursday, 9 October.
The Community Knockout has reached the semi-final stage following last week’s quarter finals, where 1889 Bar Ħamrun, Birkirkara Juve, San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies and Cospicua Rangers B all advanced. Birkirkara Juve recorded the widest margin of victory with a 21 to 11 win over Selmun Sports Club B. 1889 Bar Ħamrun defeated Siġġiewi Montekristo C 21 to 13, San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies edged Siġġiewi Montekristo B 21 to 18, and Cospicua Rangers B beat PL Floriana 21 to 17.
This week’s semi-finals, also to be played over two legs, will see 1889 Bar Ħamrun face Birkirkara Juve, while San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies meet Cospicua Rangers B. The final of the competition is scheduled for Wednesday, 8 October.
