Various Maltese athletes competed at HYROX Turin this weekend, delivering some of which delivering, strong results. Katrina Cushcieri and Dzintra Grech managed to win the Women’s Pro Doubles representing Malta with pride. Other athletes also snatched podiums across multiple categories in this global functional fitness event.

In the Women’s Pro Doubles, the duo of Dzintra Grech and Katrina Cuschieri delivered an outstanding performance, winning 1st place ahead of Italian pair Silvia Gambino and Chiara Micco, who finished in 2nd place with a time of 01:05:43.0. Portuguese duo Suse Franco and Fátima Costa took 3rd place, but it was Grech and Cuschieri who dominated the competition with their winning time of 01:04:45.0, securing a well-deserved victory.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s Open Individual, Rosalie Borg Cauchi earned a podium finish, placing 3rd with a time of 01:06:52.1. Her outstanding performance demonstrated her skill and determination in one of the event’s most competitive categories. Katrina Cuschieri and Dzintra Grech also placed third in their age group for women’s open.

In the 40-49-year-old doubles category, Sandra Lee Borg and Josianne Bonavia also made Malta proud by achieving 2nd place, finishing with a solid time of 01:11:17.0. Their result underscored the versatility and depth of Maltese athletes across age groups.

Meanwhile, in the Men’s Open, Mark Caruana delivered a strong performance, finishing in 10th place with a time of 01:04:04.7, showcasing Malta’s growing presence and competitiveness on the men’s side.
