The President of the European Parliament and MEP for Malta and Gozo Roberta Metsola, is in Milan, as she was invited for the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games. Before tonight’s ceremony at San Siro, President Metsola was Inter Milan’s guest of honour as they hosted her at their HQ.

Greeted by President and CEO of Inter FC Giuseppe Marotta, President Roberta Metsola met with the Maltese football powerhouse Haley Bugeja who presented President Metsola with her no. 7 shirt. The President of the European Parliament presented Bugeja with the flag of the European Union. “It was great to talk about her incredible journey and the pride of representing our island on the world stage,” said President Metsola.
President Metsola was also invited to meet journalists and the management who work for the renowned Gazzetta Dello Sport, where she was presented with a special edition of the paper, published using white paper instead of the staple pink coloured paper that Gazzetta Dello Sport is known for.
