Sliema clinch F.A. Trophy for 22nd time in history after beating eternal rivals Floriana 4-2 after penalty shootout.

Sliema were the better team throughout the 120 minutes and created the most chances and shots on goal despite the game ended 0-0, Floriana ended the game down to 10 men when Maksim Valadzko managed to receive two yellow card in two minutes. In the dying moments Sliema also ended in 10 men when Neil Frendo received a straight red card.

Newley promoted Sliema managed to win the cup against all odds, meanwhile Floriana managed a second place in this competition and also in the League. Rashid Al Tumi Sliema goalkeeper managed to save two crucial penalties.
