DJOKOVIC DECIDED IN HIS INTENT: US Open? I did what I could!

Novak Djokovic touched on the whole saga of bans from competing at the US Open. As he states what happened to him, he did it, now it’s up to others!

The Serbian tennis player won Wimbledon and thus reached his 21st Grand Slam.

He continues the race with Nadal, but the first obstacle on that path is the inability to participate in the US Open.

– Right now I’m thinking about a well-deserved and desired vacation. I will rest for a while without a racket, I will always do something physical and keep my body in shape. As for tennis training, we hope for good news, that I can enter America and play. However, there is not much time for some things to change. What about me, I did it. I did what I can do, what else they advise me to do – I won’t. I am waiting for good news and I hope there will be some. If not, I’ll be here, I’ll train, I’ll play in regional tournaments where they let me – said Novak.

On this occasion, he recalled the unpleasant events in Australia.

The Australian saga was not pleasant for me at all, and people who think that I forced my entry into Australia is not true and it has been proven in court, I will never go to a country where I do not have a rule to travel. That was the case with Australia, several other people who entered 10 days before me had no problem, you know what happened to me, I was deported from a country I would like to return to. I love Australia, I love playing there, I have the best results there. I also want to be in New York, America, everywhere I can play. I am not interested in politics, I have my own opinion and I am always in favor of the freedom to choose what is best for you. I respect everyone’s freedom and I expect people to respect my freedom as well – Djokovic added.

He was asked what he would do if he could not participate in the US Open.

If I’m there, I will be, if not, it’s not the end of the world, I’m still young and there will be time and opportunities – concluded the Serbian tennis player.
