Allegri Praises Vlahovic's Form but Emphasizes Team Effort Ahead of Juventus' Unusual Friday Match

In a departure from their usual midweek Champions League appearances, Juventus, affected by financial troubles and consequently out of European competitions, is set to play on a rare Friday slot.

Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, visiting Monza, aims to extend their five-game unbeaten streak, matching only Inter Milan in Serie A, and keep their hopes alive for the Scudetto.

In the lead-up to the match, Allegri addressed various topics, ranging from his future at the club to Dusan Vlahovic, Federico Chiesa, and the legendary Adriano Galliani, as well as their upcoming opponent.

When Italian journalists asked Allegri to comment on the improving form of Serbian striker Vlahovic and his usual attacking partner, Chiesa, Allegri praised their performance. “They are playing very well, but so are the other players,” he said, hesitant to overly exalt the duo before continuing:

“There were times when [Moise] Kean and [Arkadiusz] Milik led the attack. We aim to return to the Champions League, and I’ve told the players that there will be times when someone will have to play a bit less. Occasionally, I think about Mattia Perin, who is an outstanding goalkeeper but doesn’t get much playing time behind [Wojciech] Szczęsny.”

Recent speculations have suggested Allegri might leave Juventus at the end of the season. “We always talk about the future at this time of year. I have a contract with Juventus until June 2025 and am working with the club on the future. I get along very well with the new directors; there is harmony as we strive to achieve all our goals,” Allegri clarified.
