France need goals against Poland with or without Mbappe

France will attempt to unlock their goal-scoring potential against the already-eliminated Poland in their quest to secure the top spot in Group A of Euro 2024 on Tuesday. However, uncertainties persist regarding the participation of their influential forward, Kylian Mbappe. Having suffered a broken nose in France’s opening match against Austria, Mbappe showcased his resilience by wearing a protective mask during a friendly game on Saturday. The match pitted him against the under-21 team of German club Paderborn, where he demonstrated his prowess by scoring twice and providing assists for two other goals.

France has thus far been unsuccessful in scoring goals themselves in Germany. In their opening match, they secured a victory against Austria thanks to an own goal, and their match against the Netherlands ended in a goalless draw. As a result, coach Didier Deschamps may consider reinstating Mbappe for their upcoming game against Poland.

The Netherlands currently lead Group D, having scored more goals than the French team. The winners of the group will go on to face the second-placed team in Group F, which is currently occupied by Turkey. Meanwhile, the runners-up will compete against the team that finishes second in Group E, where Romania, Belgium, Slovakia, and Ukraine are all tied with three points.
