Anxiety before Roland Garros: Djokovic still injured?

Novak Djokovic is still suffering from an elbow injury, which was proven in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Rome.

Djokovic played the worst set of 2023 against Holger Rune and it was evident that something was wrong with the Serbian tennis player, and it seemed to be his elbow.

This was confirmed in the break between the third and fourth game of the second set when a physiotherapist came to the court and helped the number one tennis player in the world – because of his elbow.

Upon arriving at Djokovic, the doctor first talked to him and then concluded that he needed painkillers, which he soon received.

Novak Djokovic will have to recover before Roland Garros

Novak’s serve was not so much a problem before entering physio, which is mostly the case with elbow injuries, but his forehand was miles away from a recognizable level – which was best shown by the fact that he made almost 20 unforced errors in 11 games.

This scene is a big problem for Novak and his fans, who are anxiously watching what is happening, primarily because the second Grand Slam of the Roland Garros season is very close (May 28).

Let us remind you that Novak has had a problem with his elbow practically since the beginning of the season on clay, on which he recorded bad results – in Monte Carlo he was kicked out early by Lorenzo Musetti, in Banja Luka he was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Dušan Lajović, and he missed the Masters in Madrid.

At Roland Garros, the Serbian tennis player is defending the quarterfinals from last year, in which he was eliminated by Rafael Nadal.
