MEDVEDEV DISAPPOINTED: I fought physically, but now I'm a little tired

Russian Daniil Medvedev is disappointed that he was eliminated from Roland Garros already in the first round.

Having previously won the Rome Masters, much was expected of Medvedev in Paris.

However, now the second player on the planet has been defeated by the 172nd player in the world.

“Difficult and good match, I don’t think I played that bad. If he plays like this until the end of the year, he will be in the top 30. I hope it will be like that, otherwise I will be disappointed and think ‘why now?” It was not easy with the wind, and the balls are also difficult – these conditions are much more pleasing to the players who play ‘from the wrist’ and who can easily create strength”, Medvedev pointed out and added:

“The audience should shut up while I’m talking to the judge, that’s why I told them that. Other than that, everything was fine.”

Russian points out that he will think about this defeat for a week.

“I fought physically, I’m a little tired now, but it’s easier for the body to fall when it’s lost. And I was mentally present until the end, he finished with two winners. I will think about this match for a week, but I don’t see what I did too wrong – double faults, but the wind was terrible today.”

The clay court season for Medvedev is over.

“I will relax in the coming days, although of course I wanted to stay longer in Paris. I’m glad that the season on clay is over, I don’t like it when clay is in my bag, in my sneakers, and my white socks can be thrown away”, concluded Daniil Medvedev.
