Novak Djokovic “cleaned up” the American tennis player Frances Tiafoe at the Laver Cup, but the American had only words of praise for his rival after the match.
- Novak is an extremely cool character, I already know that. I really ‘cook’ him, we constantly joke with each other and he is actually very funny – Tiafoe said after the match and continued to praise the Serbian tennis player.
- I have a great sense of humor and use my tongue to say various things, and he likes to do that too. He is a very good guy. Everything he does for Serbia and Serbian tennis – of course for all the people of his country, he is really an honest person – said the American.
He also referred to the criticism that Djokovic often receives from the western part of the world.
- I think he often gets a bad ‘record’. I think he is actually a very, very good person and of course a legend. I have enormous respect for him. I wish he wasn’t so prepared for this match, but other than that… Okay, maybe that’s why I like him a little less today, but other than that, he’s a very cool character – underlined the current 19th tennis player in the world.
This was the second meeting between these two tennis players, and in the first, at the Australian Open in 2021, Djokovic also celebrated.
