Judoka Katryna Esposito will be making her first appearance at the Olympics but is confident of a good showing as she has been preparing hard for this wonderful experience.
“I have just come back from a month of intensive training in Spain. I’m now back in Malta and have been working hard on positioning and other tactical moves in the run up to the games”.
Esposito has been coming back from a serious injury and has had the mental and physical strength to make a full rehabilitation. Asked on her prospects in the competition, she said that she is confident of a good showing.
“Unfortunately, I won’t know anything on my opponent until just a few hours before the bout. I’m always prepared mentally and physically for my performance. I feel immensely proud that I will be performing at the Olympics and will do my utmost to succeed in representing Malta”.
Team Malta’s Olympic commitments begin on July 27 with judoka Esposito in action in the -48kg event.
