The biggest Olympic record for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has already been broken. Excluding the Paralympic Games, 8.6 million tickets have been sold for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as reported by the Organizing Committee to AFP. This sale surpasses the previous record of tickets sold for an Olympic Games which was 8.3 million for Atlanta 1996.
“We have already surpassed that figure for some time. We are at 8.6 million for the Olympic part, plus 1 million for the Paralympic part,” said Tony Estanguet, president of the organizing committee. Although he also comments that “only the IOC has these figures in its possession and it was he who warned us”.
UP TO 10 MILLION
The figure the Games organizers plan to sell is 10 million tickets and 3.4 million for the Paralympics. “There are very good opportunities at different rates for both the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as for the opening and closing ceremonies,” Estanguet added. “We are proud to have already broken the record, but we can still go higher,” he also said.
Events such as athletics, swimming and basketball are the ones that had a higher cost and demand, while disciplines such as golf, water polo, rugby 7-a-side, and even soccer, had tickets with more or less low prices.
There is an alternative and that is the acquisition of hospitality packages, also through the official site, with premium and VIP experiences, which guarantee tickets, although the cost increases considerably.
It is another way to obtain tickets for events with high demand, such as gymnastics, which also include access to exclusive lounges where drinks and food are offered with personalized attention, in addition to lodging. The price of these packages is higher although it goes by rounds, in the first ones it would be cheaper and in the finals it can reach more than 3,500€.
