World Cup winner receives terrifying death threat

Angel Di Maria has abandoned his plans to return to his hometown club, Rosario Central, after receiving a horrifying death threat against his daughter. The experienced winger had originally intended to finish his career with the club where he started. However, after his sister was sent a package containing a pig’s head, a bullet, and a threat to harm his daughter if he pursued his plans, Di Maria has decided to put a halt to his return.

Di Maria left Rosario Central in 2007 to join Benfica before moving on to play for top clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and eventually returning to Benfica.

Having previously expressed his desire to end his career at Rosario Central, the 145-cap Argentina international has understandably reconsidered his decision due to the alarming threat against his family.
