The final round of the National Amateur League II produced yet another win for Victoria Hotspurs who ended their first phase commitments with a 100% record.
Victoria Hotspurs 4-1 Mdina Knights
Victoria Hotspurs ended their first phase on a high, dominating Mdina Knights 4-1 at the Centenary Stadium. Despite missing Ferdinando Apap, the Gozitans controlled the game. Kurt Borg opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, but Mdina equalized with a stunning free-kick by Matthew Borg. Rondinely restored the lead before halftime. In the second half, Matthias Said and Borg added to the tally, sealing a comfortable win.
Dingli Swallows 0-3 Mqabba
Mqabba strengthened their hold on second place, securing a 3-0 victory over Dingli Swallows. Juan Andres Viveros scored early in the second half, followed by a Luca Bugeja corner goal and Ryan Dalli’s late strike. Mqabba now sit three points ahead of St George’s and four ahead of Kalkara United, with key matches ahead.
St George’s 5-1 Santa Venera Lightnings
St George’s dominated bottom-placed Santa Venera Lightnings in a 5-1 win. Goals from Sean Ellul, Kurt Zahra, Victor Olowoyo, Matthew Gauci, and Jaden Camilleri ensured victory. Notably, 65-year-old Joe Attard became the oldest player to feature in Maltese senior leagues.
Ghaxaq 1-0 Kalkara United
Ghaxaq stunned Top 4 contenders Kalkara United with a last-minute goal from Ian Calleja. Goalkeeper Luke Attard played a key role, making crucial saves to frustrate Kalkara.
Ta’ Xbiex 0-1 Siggiewi
