At the end of this May, Malta will host the second edition of the water polo Champions League Final Four of European Aquatics, in collaboration with SportMalta and the Ministry for Sport. The games will take place over three days, from May 30th to June 1st 2025, at the National Pool Complex Tal-Qroqq.
Minister for Sport, Clifton Grima, stated that hosting the Champions League Final Four in Malta, for the second consecutive year, shows that investments in sports are bearing fruit. ASA President Karl Izzo mentioned this major water polo event will include a Sports Village and that the Final Four matches will be broadcast not only in Malta but also in several other countries. Mark Cutajar, CEO of SportMalta and Chairman of the Final Four Organizing Committee, said that thanks to collaboration between various entities, Malta continues to attract major sports events.
This year’s edition will also see the inauguration of a new lighting system at the National Pool, with an investment of €135,000, benefiting all aquatic disciplines.
As with last year, the SportMalta Cup featuring the top four local water polo teams will also be played during Final Four week at the National Pool.
Tickets for the event will be available starting Monday, April 21 from www.showshappening.com and Water polo nurseries will receive free tickets to attend.
