Sliema ASC lifted the BOV Water Polo Premier League Trophy after sweeping holders San Giljan 2-0 in the best-of-3 playoff Final.
The Blues closed off the series with a 15-12 win over San Giljan in the second game of the playoff final after having convincingly beaten the Saints with a 12-8 win in the first game of the series earlier this week. The victory in the BOV Water Polo Premier League cements Sliema as the most successful Water Polo club on the islands, having won the top division league a record 32 times with their last title won in 2009.

Sliema captain John Brownrigg received the BOV Water Polo Premier League trophy on behalf of his teammates from Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer at Bank of Valletta in the presence of Karl Izzo, President of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta and the Hon. Clifton Grima, Minister for Education,Youth, Resources and Innovation in front of the large group of Sliema supporters who celebrated this long awaited win.
