The Aquatic Sports Association of Malta hosted an exciting evening of U16 water polo action on Tuesday, 6th May, at the Cottonera Sports Complex, with two intense matchups delivering plenty of thrills and standout performances.
In the first encounter, Sliema Gillette edged past Neptunes WPSC in a tightly contested match, emerging 11-9 winners. Both sides demonstrated strong defensive structures and sharp attacking play, but it was Sliema who held their nerve in the closing stages to secure the win.
The second fixture saw a commanding performance from San Giljan, who overpowered Birzebbuga Enemed with a resounding 23-3 victory. San Giljan’s clinical offense and disciplined defense proved too much for their opponents, underlining their credentials as one of the standout sides in this year’s competition.
With the U16 league heating up, both Sliema and San Giljan will be aiming to carry this winning momentum forward as they continue their campaigns.
