The latest round of the Aquatic Sports Association (ASA) Malta U18 Water Polo competition saw Sliema Gillette and Neptunes W.P.S.C. claim emphatic victories in their respective matches at the Cottonera Sports Complex.
Sliema Overpowers Birzebbuga
In the first match of the day, Sliema Gillette displayed a commanding performance against Birzebbuga Enemed, securing a 14-3 victory. Sliema took early control of the game with solid defense and clinical finishing, making it difficult for Birzebbuga to respond. The win further strengthens Sliema’s position in the tournament, showcasing their dominance in the U18 age group.
Neptunes Crush Malta U16 in High-Scoring Affair
The second fixture saw Neptunes W.P.S.C. deliver an attacking masterclass, thrashing Malta U16 by an overwhelming 20-5 margin. Despite Malta U16’s best efforts, Neptunes proved too strong, overwhelming their younger opponents with fast-paced play and sharp shooting. Notably, this match was classified as “Out of Competition,” meaning it did not affect official standings but provided valuable experience for the young Malta U16 squad.
Tournament Outlook
With these results, both Sliema and Neptunes continue to demonstrate their strength in the U18 category, asserting themselves as top contenders for future matchups. The ASA Malta water polo youth league remains highly competitive, with teams pushing hard to develop young talents and prepare them for senior-level competition.
