San Ġiljan ASC and head coach Marko Orlovic have mutually agreed to part ways. The decision comes just weeks after Orlovic took charge of the senior team, following the departure of previous coach Kovacic.
Sources indicate that discussions regarding Orlovic’s departure were initiated immediately after San Ġiljan’s recent match against Sirens. While the reasons behind the decision remain undisclosed, the club and coach reportedly reached an amicable agreement to terminate their collaboration.
Orlovic’s tenure was brief, but his time at the helm of San Ġiljan saw him working to implement his coaching philosophy and strategy. With the season still in progress, the club will now look to appoint a new head coach to ensure continuity and stability within the squad.
Orlovic, a Serbian water polo coach, has had a notable career in Maltese water polo, coaching clubs such as Sirens ASC and leading San Ġiljan’s junior squad in international training camps. He is known for his emphasis on youth development and has contributed significantly to the sport’s growth in Malta.
Further updates regarding Orlovic’s departure and the club’s plans for his replacement are expected in due course.
