Positive results for Alex De Gabriele in Monastir Tunisia

Athlete supported through SportMalta International Participation Scheme 2024 and Malta Tennis Federation

Alex De Gabriele, one of Malta’s leading tennis players, who earlier this summer helped Malta win the 2024 Davis Cup Group IV – Europe, returned with positive results from two ITF M15 tournaments held in Monastir, Tunisia.

In the first tournament, Alex managed to reach the round of 16 after beating Carlos Maria Zarate of Argentina with the score of 7-6,7-6. Alex also managed to reach the quarter finals of the doubles tournament when together with Liam Delicata, they managed to beat the team from Portugal with the score of 6-3, 0-6, 10-5.

In the second tournament, Alex was eliminated in the first round by Boris Butulija of Serbia, losing out in 3 sets with the score of 4-6, 3-6. In doubles, once again with his partner Liam Delicata, the team from Malta reached the quarter-finals after beating Rayen Hermassi (Tunisia) and Carlos Maria Zarate (Argentina) with the score of 6-3, 7-6.

The tournaments in Monastir, under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation were made possible through the support of the International Participation Scheme of SportMalta and the Malta Tennis Federation.
