The junior men’s team put up a courageous performance, but it was not enough as they suffered a 3-2 defeat against Ireland on the sixth day of the European table tennis youth championships in Malmo.
Despite initially trailing against the Irish, the Maltese team managed to turn the tide with impressive sets from Luke Bonello and Luke Fenech. However, the Irish responded strongly, ultimately winning the match 3-2.

Later in the evening, the same men’s team faced Wales and were defeated 3-0, while the Maltese women’s team also suffered a 3-0 loss to Greece.
Today, the junior players and cadets will compete in the singles matches.
