Terence Vella, Christian Azzopardi and Domenic Zammit are the overall winners of the fourth round of the 2024 National Hillclimb Championship

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Xaghra in Gozo, the fourth round of the 2024 National Hillclimb Championship was hosted by the Island Car Club on Sunday, May 19th. This challenging course, known for its steep inclines and sharp turns, has long been a favourite among the local hillclimb enthusiasts. 

Overall winners: Terence Vella 1st, Christian Azzopardi 2nd, Domenic Zammit 3rd. Rear wheel drive winner – Noel Galea, Front wheel drive winner – Didier Bugeja, Four-wheel drive winner – Josef Calleja, Fastest Classic Car – Roberto Gauci, Fastest Street legal car – Konrad Abela, Fastest Female Driver – Martina Caruana, Fastest Driver over sixty – David Grech, Fastest Under 25 years – Nicholas Micallef, Guest Class Winner – Evan Abela Scolaro, Drifting – Max Fenech. So far, Mark Micallef won the 1st round, Christian Azzopardi won the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and Terence Vella won the fourth round.

This event would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of the officials. Josef Abela served as the Clerk of the Course, Jeremy Cassar as the Deputy Clerk of the Course, Susanne Fenech as the Secretary of the meeting, Adrian Figallo as the Steward, and Joe Formosa as the timekeeper, and an army of many volunteers in different roles and responsibilities, and the support of Enemed, MeDirect Bank Malta, England Insurance, The Point Malta, and other sponsors. The next round, the 5th, is scheduled for after the summer break on September 22nd. The venue will be announced later.
