Kavallieri and Swieqi Phoenix claim titles in Handball Knock Out Finals

The Malta Handball Association Knock Out Finals took place at the University Sports Hall at Tal-Qroqq, where youth and senior teams competed across two days of matches to determine the winners of six competitions.

Teams from different age groups and divisions played the finals in front of spectators, with several close contests and decisive results across the programme.

U15 Boys Final

Swieqi Phoenix defeated La Salle 18-13 to win the U15 Boys title. Swieqi Phoenix established an early advantage and controlled the opening stages of the match. La Salle reduced the deficit during the middle phase of the game, but Swieqi Phoenix maintained their lead and secured the victory.

U15 Girls Final

Swieqi EBHS Phoenix won the U15 Girls final with a 26-21 result against Kavallieri. The match included periods where Kavallieri narrowed the gap, but Swieqi EBHS Phoenix remained ahead and converted key scoring opportunities to claim the trophy.

U17 Girls Final

Swieqi EBHS Malta Phoenix recorded a 23-10 win over Kavallieri in the U17 Girls final. The team established control early in the match and maintained their advantage throughout the game.

U19 Men Final

Kavallieri secured the U19 Men title after defeating Shooting Stars 28-17. Kavallieri maintained a steady pace during the match and built a consistent scoring margin that Shooting Stars were unable to reduce.

Women’s Final

Swieqi RGF Malta Phoenix won the Women’s final with a 39-22 victory against Kavallieri. Swieqi Phoenix built an early lead and extended the gap as the match progressed.

Men’s Final

Kavallieri defeated Swieqi Gasan Mamo Phoenix 32-25 in the Men’s final. Swieqi Phoenix led 15-10 at half time after converting several scoring opportunities and benefiting from missed penalties by Kavallieri.

The momentum changed in the second half as Kavallieri produced an eight goal scoring run that reversed the deficit. From that point, Kavallieri controlled the remainder of the match and secured the title.

Maltese Handball Finals Weekend

The finals weekend concluded the Knock Out competitions for the current handball season in Malta. The event featured teams from multiple categories and provided competition for youth and senior players.

The Malta Handball Association thanked players, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters who contributed to the organisation of the Knock Out Finals at Tal-Qroqq.
