Albert Scerri and Jonathan Bilocca managed to reach the last 64 of the WDF Europe Cup individual competition after a great performance in the first round.
Scerri beat Lithuanian Laimis Zubavicius 4-2 while Bilocca got a good 4-1 win against the Czech Viteslav Sedlak.
In the second round, Albert Scerri fought till the end against Hungarian Gyorgy Jehirski although it was the latter who emerged victorious 4-3. For his part, Jonathan Bilocca found it difficult against Slovenian Mladen Josic so much so that he lost 4-0.
The other two players in the action, Tony Borg and Kirsten Aquilina were eliminated from the first round after defeats against Michael Ioannis (1-4) and Robert Nelson (3-4) respectively.
The ladies doubles competition was also played where Josianne Caruana and Marconia Zammit Borg lost against Christiane Musik and Denis Neumayer 4-0 while with the same score, Lilian Abela and Audrey Gauci were eliminated by French couple Christine Frison and Claire Monpoux.
