According to a Malta Today report, one of Malta’s highly anticipated boxing events may be at risk, as participants Dale Mallia Tanti and Kyonne Gravina have threatened to pull out over alleged changes to their agreements with the organizing company, Bulletproof Culture.
Tanti and Gravina, who gained public recognition as contestants on Love Island Malta, have engaged legal counsel Stefano Filletti to address their concerns. In a letter to Bulletproof Culture, the duo accused the company of repeatedly altering the terms of their original agreement for the Fight Island event.
The two contestants, who signed their contracts on October 10, claim that the event’s organizers have “unilaterally” made several modifications. These include canceling an event, significantly reducing their commission rates, and imposing new conditions not originally agreed upon.
The letter also highlighted a recent demand from Bulletproof Culture requiring a wager that would oblige Tanti and Gravina to accept a “humiliating public penalty” if they lost their bouts.
As of November 29, the company was reportedly still attempting to renegotiate the terms, just hours before the official weigh-in.
In their letter, Tanti and Gravina urged Bulletproof Culture to honour the original agreements, warning that failure would result in their withdrawal from the event.
“If you fail to countersign the agreements as circulated, my clients will consider there to be no valid agreement in place, and as a result, they will not participate in tomorrow’s event,” the letter stated.
The situation casts uncertainty over the much-anticipated Fight Island event, leaving fans and organizers in suspense.
