The Malta Snooker Academy hosted another round of competitive youth and team matches as the local snooker calendar progresses into the summer phase. A series of encounters from the U16, U18, and Teams categories produced engaging matchups and some noteworthy performances.
In the under 16 Group A category, Nick Muscat secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Craig Casha in the opening match at 16:30. Muscat’s steady control at the table saw him dominate both frames to take an early lead in the group standings.
Later in the evening, the under 18 Group B match saw Andrei Cini emerge as the winner against Gregory Cachia with a 2-0 scoreline. Cini’s composed performance and tactical awareness were key to his success, giving him a strong start in the group stage.
The day concluded with an entertaining teams group A fixture between Goliath and Brainstorm. Goliath narrowly edged the match 3-2, although Brainstorm registered the highest break of the day, a solid 67, highlighting their attacking potential despite the result.
As the tournament unfolds, all eyes will be on the emerging young talent showcasing their skills and composure under pressure. More fixtures are set to follow in the coming days as players compete for top spots in their respective groups.
