Lando Norris converted pole position into a well-earned win at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, holding off challenges from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri in a tactically complex race.
Norris overcame an early lock-up at Sainte Devote and navigated multiple Virtual Safety Car phases and traffic to secure his second win of the season. The McLaren driver maintained composure through the required two-stop rule and reduced the championship gap to just three points behind Piastri.
Leclerc pushed hard, particularly at the start and again when Max Verstappen bunched the field late in the race. Despite the pressure, he settled for second. Piastri followed closely in third, rounding out a double podium for McLaren.
Verstappen’s alternate tyre strategy gave him the lead late into the race, but he was forced to pit with one lap remaining, dropping him to fourth. Lewis Hamilton, after a penalty in qualifying, drove a quiet race to fifth.
Rookie Isack Hadjar impressed with a sixth-place finish, ahead of Haas’ Esteban Ocon and Liam Lawson. Williams secured a double points finish through Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, with Albon holding off George Russell, who received a drive-through penalty for an illegal overtake attempt.
Further back, Haas’ Ollie Bearman recovered to 12th after a grid penalty and scrappy start, while Alpine’s Franco Colapinto and Kick Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto rounded out the top 14.
