Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton performed another little miracle in Formula 1.
The seven-time world champion started from the back in the sprint race for the Brazilian Grand Prix. The reason lies in the fact that the Briton was disqualified from the sprint qualifiers.
However, that fact did not prevent Lewis Hamilton from doing the impossible. He made as many as 15 overtaking and took the fifth position.
On Sunday, he will start the race from the tenth position because he was punished with five more places due to a change in the drive unit.
– Honestly, I had no idea what would be possible. I didn’t set a limit, so I know what my maximum is. When the race started, and I was at the end of the grid, I thought it would be good if I could see the tenth place. I set that as an initial goal, but in general I was just thinking about getting as far as I could – said Lewis Hamilton after the sprint.
The British driver then explained the complete situation in detail.
– Suddenly I passed much faster and I did not give up, I had to push as much as possible. It was hard when I found out I was disqualified. I was really sad when I heard the news, but I didn’t let it break me, I quickly reset and concentrated – Lewis Hamilton added.
