Karim Benzema retired from the French national team, but there is a chance that he will continue to play for the national team.
Benzema, who was in some kind of “silent” conflict with coach Didier Deschamps, put an end to his representative career with a post on social networks.
Something similar could be hinted at when he refused French President Emmanuel Macron’s offer to watch the final together, in which Argentina eventually celebrated after penalty kicks and lifted the world champion trophy.
However, some media in France report that Karim could return to the national team if Zinedine Zidane, with whom he has a great relationship, becomes the coach.
Deschamps has not yet made a statement about his future, but Benzema’s teammate in Real Madrid, Toni Kroos, has no doubt that Zidane would be the ideal choice for the “tricolor”.
– I am convinced that Zidane would not only be a good successor but the best possible one. The big question is what does Didier Deschamps want? I would say that the chances are 70:30 that Zidane will be the new coach. I think he really wants to go back to work – Kroos told for “As”.
What do you think, will Benzema return to the national team?
