Ħamrun Spartans are in discussions with coach Winston Muscat to potentially take charge of the team until the end of the season, sources have informed Maltasport.
This development follows confirmation from club CEO Marcel Bonnici, who stated on Replay that a decision regarding the club’s coaching situation is expected within the next 48 hours. Talks with Muscat are set to take place in the coming hours, with an official announcement possibly being made later today.
However, Maltasport also understands that Ħamrun are considering at least two other candidates as part of their evaluation process to appoint a coach for the remainder of the campaign. The club is carefully weighing its options to ensure the best possible fit for the team’s ambitions.

The Spartans currently find themselves in fifth place with 14 points, four points behind the league leaders. Following two consecutive defeats, the team is under pressure to bounce back. A top-two finish in the Closing Round is crucial to force a playoff and keep their hopes of defending last season’s title alive.
With time running out, the club’s decision in the coming hours will be pivotal in shaping the remainder of their campaign.
