Football Video Support (FVS) will be introduced for the first time in
Maltese domestic football.
This milestone has been made possible thanks to the initiative of the Malta Premier, in collaboration with the Malta Football Association, and
through the collective financial effort of all member clubs in supporting
this landmark project.
For the first time, coaches will have the ability to challenge
and potentially overturn a referee’s decision through the use
of the football video support (FVS).
Starting from Match Week 12 in late November, FVS will be
implemented in the opening fixtures of both the Top 6 and Bottom 6
phases of the YoHealth Malta Premier.
In a joint statement, MPL Chairman Dr. Joseph Muscat and
Kampjonat Malta Chairman Mr. Alan Abela said this initiative is
“a testament to our commitment to move from words to
action.”
They added that “this long-promised introduction is now a
reality, made possible through the financial commitment of the
Malta Premier and its 12 member clubs”.
