Birkirkara secured a 2-0 victory against Floriana in a recent fixture of the 360Sports Malta Premier Closing Round at Tony Bezzina Stadium on Wednesday. The Stripes netted two goals in a span of two minutes towards the conclusion of the first half, propelling them to the top spot with 19 points, one ahead of their opponents.

The opening goal came at the 35th minute mark as Lecao set up Maxuell Samurai for a shot which was partially deflected by the Floriana goalkeeper. Shortly after, Birkirkara extended their lead when Paul Mbong and Alex Satariano combined well, leading to Leandro Lacunza crossing the ball for Maxuell Maia to take a shot that found the back of the net following Satariano’s assist.

Birkirkara faced a setback in the 67th minute as Manuel Morello received his marching orders after collecting a second yellow card for a rash challenge. In added time, two more players were sent off – Fernandinho from Floriana for a foul and Birkirkara’s goalkeeper Giacomo Volpe for an altercation with a Floriana player.
