Xavi: This was a night to win, it was not a day for Lewandowski

Barcelona lost to Bayern in the second round of the Champions League with a score of 2:0, and Catalan coach Xavi Hernandez believes that the result does not reflect the real situation on the field.

“I feel disappointed because this was a night to win. But I’m also proud of the team. However, at the end of the day, everything is about winning and we have to be better competitors in crucial moments, and we have to have a better realization. We conceded goals when we had the game under control. We have to learn lessons”, said Xavi.

When it comes to realization, more was expected from the former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski.

“It was not a day for Lewandowski. It was evident that his emotions overcame him and he was not as cool-headed in the end as he usually is,” said the Barcelona coach.

Barcelona currently shares second place in the group with Inter, with whom they will meet in the next round in Milan.
