Borussia Dortmund and Paris SG reach Champions League semi finals

Borussia Dortmund stormed to an impressive 4-2 victory against Atletico Madrid to overcome a 2-1 loss from the first leg at the Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund stormed to a 2-0 lead in the first half through goals from Jochen Brandt and Wille Maatsen but Atletico came back strongly at the start of the second half with two goals in quick succession, an own goal from Mats Hummels and a strike from Alex Correa.

However, Dortmund turned the game around with an impressive turnaround, a magnificent goal from Nikolas Fullkrug after a perfect assist from Marcus Sabitzer with the Austrian smashing the fourth goal just two minutes later on 74 minutes to make it 4-2 and a first semi final for Dortmund for quite some time.

In the other semi-final, Paris Saint Germain also came from behind with a great win against Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Barcelona went ahead after just 12 minutes through Raphina but Araujo’s expulsion on the half hour seriously compromised the Catalans.

PSG equalized on 40 minutes through Osama Dembele’. Vitinha put the French side ahead on 54 minutes to level the tie whilst talisman Kylian Mbappe’ made it 3-1 from a penalty on 61 minutes. The icing on the cake was Mbappe’s fourth goal a minute from time to give PSG a famous victory and a second Champions League semi-final.
