TUCHEL ON SADIO MANE'S STATUS: He knows mine and the club's opinion, but I respect his wish

Bayern Munich coach Tomas Tuchel spoke about the status of last year’s signing Sadio Mane, who after his arrival from Liverpool did not live up to the expectations of the club and fans.

The Senegalese has a contract until 2025, but after the departure of Robert Lewandowski, he did not act as an adequate replacement, so there is talk of his transfer already in the summer transfer window.

“He did not live up to expectations. The competition is very strong, and his starting position is not good. He knows it himself, he knows mine, as well as the club’s opinion,” said Tuchel.

Bayern started preparations for the new season today, and despite Mane’s desire to stay in Munich, the former Liverpool player was informed that the club is not currently counting on him for the next competitive year.

“He has a contract and wants to stay. We respect that, but it’s only the first day of preparations and a lot can still change. That’s how it is in football,” said Tuchel.

Senehalac played 38 matches for Bayern this season, scoring 12 goals and registering six assists.
