Newly appointed Bayern Munich coach Tomas Tuchel spoke to the media after his team’s debacle at the Etihad in the Champions League.
They are disappointed in Bayern because they did not play that badly, but they experienced the heaviest defeat since 2017 when they also lost 3:0 against PSG.
“Of course, the result is disastrous for us. We didn’t get the reward we deserved for our effort, we should have scored at least one goal,’ said Tomas Tuhel after the match.
The new coach of the Bavarians pointed out that despite the defeat, he saw many good things.
“I liked how we played and the way we presented ourselves. It may sound strange, but it was a lot of fun tonight. I will try to get my players out of their minds about the result of the match because it is not realistic according to what we saw on the field. It will be a challenge and we have to focus on the things we didn’t do well,’ said Tuchel.
The return match between Bayern and Manchester City is scheduled for April 19, and will be played at the packed Allianz Arena in Munich.
